Cheyava Falls is a rock formation within Jezero Crater where NASA’s Perseverance rover identified compelling geological features associated with possible ancient microbial activity. The site contains distinctive mineral deposits known for its “leopard spot” patterns, which are linked to microbial processes on Earth that can support life.
Created through an experimental process using ferrofluid and magnets, this image evokes molten terrain, mineral blooms, and alien landscapes. Dark branching forms spread across luminous fields of copper, crimson, and turquoise, reimagining extraterrestrial bacterial colonies and plasma formations.
